The charger that I ordered for my 28 Cigarette was not made for marine use. I called the manufacturer after it was delivered. They told me it was made for semi trucks when they parked!!! I told them what I wanted to do with it and they helped me thru a wiring process to hook it up. It is in the boat and works, BUT it is not a marine Charger.

On 15-Aug-11, Boundless Outfitters, Inc. added the following comments:

Let us clear up some misunderstandings.

Yes, this charger was originally manufactured under private label for a company that intended it for trucks. This does not mean that it is not a marine grade charger – on the contrary. Over-the-road trucks are subjected to nearly as much salt during the winter as the electrical equipment on any ocean-going boat. Because of this, the charger was made with corrosion resistant materials, and sealed electronics.

The only difference between this charger, 93-12302MP-A, and the retail version Charles 2000 Series Marine battery charger (93-12302SP-A) is that this one is made for flooded lead acid batteries only. In all other aspects, the 93-12302MP-A is identical with the 93-12302SP-A.

If you have any questions, please contact us.

On 15-Aug-11, George Doebler responded with this follow-up:
Thanks for feedback. My concern was that it was for gel batteries only. But that was an unfounded fear on my part. The charger works fine. It was nice of you to respond.

Thank you, George!
We are glad it is working out for you!
